Kyoichi Sudo's Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III GSR (CE9A), known as the Lan Evo, or as the Evo III, is the signature vehicle of Emperor leader Kyoichi Sudo.
History[]
A few weeks after Ryosuke Takahashi was defeated by Takumi Fujiwara on Akina's downhill, Team Emperor begin their sweep of Gunma, aiming to defeat all of its local teams. During the battle between Seiji Iwaki and Takeshi Nakazato on Myogi, Kyoichi Sudo scouts out Akina. A few days later Emperor makes its way out to Akina, with Seiji set to go up against the Eight-Six. After Seiji's embarrassing defeat, Kyoichi chooses to focus the team's attention to their battles with the Akagi RedSuns. Kyoichi goes to the gas station in Shibukawa where Takumi works to challenge him to an unofficial battle on Akagi, which Takumi initially declines, however changes his mind and heads to Akagi. Sudo lets Takumi take the lead, giving him a head start to compensate for the difference between their cars. Takumi maintains his lead for a while, with his speed surprising Kyoichi, before he is overtaken in a corner. Takumi struggles to keep up with the Evo III before his engine explodes, causing him to spin out and ending the race prematurely. While Kyoichi didn't count it as an official race, he nonetheless lectures him to get a better car to compete in a racing environment.
A few days later, Kyoichi has his battle with Ryosuke. Ryosuke takes the lead early on, with Kyoichi managing to snatch the lead in a corner, similar to how he overtook the Eight Six. Ryosuke is able to keep close to Sudo's Evo, and manages to overtake him by taking advantage of his weakness when turning right.
After the Eight-Six is upgraded, Takumi requests a rematch against Kyoichi on the Nikko Irohazaka, his home course. Sudo is initially against them having another battle, as Takumi is still driving the Eight-Six, however he goes ahead with it anyway, believing he could still easily win. Sudo gives Takumi the lead just like in their previous race. Sudo is shocked at the power and speed coming from Takumi's Eight-Six, and is unable to pass him. Sudo finally gets his chance between the second and third bridges, and pulls alongside Takumi, however Takumi attempts to turn during the bridge at high speed, much to Sudo's shock. Because of the lack of room to turn himself, Sudo accepts defeat, praises his car and pulls back, though Takumi feels like he tied the race.
Live Action []
As revenge for defeating Seiji Iwaki, Kyoichi Sudo enters an impromptu battle with Takumi Fujiwara, in which Takumi's engine blows. Sudo later enters into a three person battle with Takumi and Ryosuke Takahashi. Sudo takes the lead early on, however he is overtaken when Ryosuke and Takumi use a gutter run to overtake. Sudo then tries to retake his lead, however he loses control of his car in an attempt to dodge an oncoming car, causing him and his car to fall off of the course and onto a lower section. With his car destroyed, he can no longer participate on the race.
Emperor transfer the car with a Dekotara truck.
